Midlife Health & Menopause Care
Welcome to my practice, specifically designed for women in midlife. I’m Dr. Stephanie Meade, a family medicine physician specializing in midlife women’s health. You do not have to suffer through the menopause transition. Together, we’ll focus on alleviating your symptoms to optimize your quality of life, address common midlife health conditions, and proactively prevent late-life chronic disease.
Why menopause medicine?
Most women in the menopause and perimenopause stages will experience symptoms such as hot flashes, sleep disturbances, mood changes, forgetfulness/brain fog, vaginal symptoms, and sexual problems. Such symptoms can significantly impair quality of life and adversely affect one’s ability to function. Midlife is also a time when many new-onset conditions unrelated to menopause can take root. Further, many women in midlife are juggling increased duties at work while also being caregivers for children and/or aging parents. Thus, prioritizing health and alleviating bothersome symptoms is critical.
Midlife is also a prime time for preventing diseases that can lead to disability later in life. Through screenings, a healthy lifestyle, and other preventive strategies, we can lay a solid foundation for aging well.
