About
Meet Dr. Meade
Dr. Meade grew up in Louisville, KY, then moved to NYC, where she was a professional dancer for over 15 years. When a career-threatening foot injury occurred, she was led to an osteopathic physician from whom she received treatments that healed her, which prevented an invasive surgery and allowed her to resume dancing. Inspired by the care and compassion she received from her doctor, she felt compelled to pursue a career in medicine. After completing her undergraduate studies in NYC, she moved to Indianapolis, where she attended Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine.
During her family medicine residency training, Dr. Meade suffered from what she now knows to have been severe symptoms of the menopause transition. Though she was surrounded by physicians of all specialties, she was unable to find anyone with expertise in menopause who could help her. Further research led her to discover a widespread gap in menopause care that leaves many women suffering from symptoms that adversely affect their quality of life and ability to function. She decided to specialize in menopause medicine and deliver this much-needed care.
As a family medicine-trained physician, Dr. Meade is also competent in addressing a wide array of health conditions that often arise in mid-life, including those unrelated to menopause. Because she values personalized, relationship-based medicine, she opened a private practice where she can take more time with patients and provide high-quality care. She is an active member of the Menopause Society and the American College of Lifestyle Medicine and is currently obtaining certifications in these disciplines.
Dr. Meade still takes dance classes and loves singing, walking her long-haired cat in the park, and attending live theatre performances.
